  1. Description South Carolina Association of Nepalese (SCAN) was founded in 2002 resulting from considerable growth in Nepali community in SC and the subsequent need to maintain fellowship and represent their causes in the US. Incepted in Columbia.

  2. Purposes • Promote welfare of all Nepalese living in South Carolina and Nepal • Promote and deepen the relationship between its members and the Nepalese in Nepal • Promote relation with other Nepalese organizations in the USA and all over the world.

  3. By laws • First Draft prepared by Dr. Ram Chandra Baral • We are working on Finalizing this process. • Formal registration is on the way now

  6. Nepalese in South Carolina • Nepalese spread over Greenville/Spartanburg, Clemson, Columbia, Charleston and the surrounding areas. • Number over 200 • Two Major Universities Clemson (Tigers) and University of SC (Gamecocks) • About 20- 40 students in each university.

  7. Celebration (Events) The association organizes at least two group events every year - one in April to celebrate Nepali New Year, and another in October to celebrate Dashain and Tihar.
