While concrete is undoubtedly a strong material to use for a driveway, there are still ways in which it can become cracked and damaged. Left unrepaired, cracks in concrete can become worse, and in some cases, the concrete needs to be replaced in its entirety. If your driveway has cracks appearing, or has been cracked for a long time and they’re getting worse, seek help from the contractors who laid it for you, or, if you weren’t satisfied with the quality of their work, find a more experienced, reputable firm that you can seek an expert opinion from. There are generally 3 things that can cause cracks in concrete, and no reputable construction firm will make any of these, so be sure to check the credentials and past experience of any contractors you hire to make sure these mistakes never happen, or at the very least, don’t happen again in the future: 1.The concrete mix contained too much water 2.The concrete mix was allowed to dry too quickly 3.The strength ratio of the concrete mix wasn’t correct

However, if your driveway has the following types of issues, it may be that a simple repair job will be sufficient: • Several small, thin cracks that don’t look as if they’ve settled • Concrete that has become sunken due to heavy loads placed on it
