  2. Colonization. • Colonization of southern Africa began with the establishment of a provisioning station for ships • The Portuguese were the first to colonize in the 15th century • France dominated the region

  3. Who Colonized it? French, British, Germans, Belgians, Portuguese, Italians and Spanish

  4. Conflicts Many countries wanted to establish their territories. Africa became very diverse and different which made it hard to cope, causing minor territory battles.
