  1. A Review of Database Migration Service of AWS The Database Migration Service of Amazon Web Service (DMS AWS) ensures smooth, seamless, and secure migration of databases to AWS. One of the main advantages of the process is that during migration the source database remains fully functional and hence organizations do not have to face any downtime or stoppage of work. Data can be migrated from the common databases and applications with AWS DMS. 

  2. Here are some of the most important benefits of DMS AWS. • First, in DMS AWS, no drivers or applications need to be installed for making any changes to the source database. A few clicks on the AWS Management Console are enough to initiate the migration process. The entire migration activity is automated and DMS handles the entire work by replicating all changes made at the source database.   

  3. Next, all changes to the data at the source are continually replicated in real-time to the target database. Hence, systems are not required to be shut down for migration and the source database remains operational and functional at all times, eliminating the need for downtime • Finally, DMS AWS supports popular databases, leading to seamless migration between on-premises databases to Amazon RDS, Amazon EC2, or Aurora as well as databases running on EC2 to RDS or vice versa. Data can also be migrated between text-based data, SQL, and No SQL with AWS DMS.  for migration.  

  4. There are two types of migration with DMS AWS. • One is homogeneous migration where the source and the target database engines are the same such as Oracle to Amazon RDS for Oracle. The other is heterogeneous migration where the source and target engines are different like Oracle to Amazon Aurora, or Microsoft SQL Server to MySQL migrations.
