  3. Signs for the CAR SCHOOL ZONE sign: Warns a car that they are near a school so children may be around, this means they must slow down. GIVE WAY sign: Tells a car they need to wait and let other cars go before they do. STOP sign: Tells a car they need to stop and wait until it is safe to go. TRAFFIC LIGHTS: Green = Go Yellow = Slow down Red = Stop

  4. Safety in the Car • As soon as we get in the car we need to............ Put our seatbelts on! • How loud are we in the car? Quiet as mice so we don’t distract our parents • We should never............. Throw things so we don’t distract our parents

  5. Signs when WALKING GREEN MAN: A green man at a traffic light means you can cross the road safely. RED MAN: A red man at a traffic light means you have to stop and wait for the cars. CHILDREN’S CROSSING: This sign means that this is a safe place for you to walk across as there is a ‘Lollipop Person’ to stop the cars to allow you to cross.

Riding a BIKE Rules for Riding a Bike: Always wear a Helmet Always obey the signs Walk the bike across the road Keep both hands on the handlebars If travelling far always ride with an adult Try and not ride during the early morning or night Always pay attention to where you are going No Bikes Bikes Allowed

  9. Summary Now you know how to be safe on the road! • Buckle up • Look, Listen, Think • Always have an adult with you • BE SAFE! Write down 3 different things on what you have learnt.
