  4. SEV Update - Feedback General comments • Main focus on new units but not exclusively • Quite a few centres used the 2004 framework • Overall verification was very successful, but there were instances of deficiency

  5. SEV Update - Feedback Unit specifications, instruments of assessment and exemplification models • The transition to the new Business Graded Unit 1 was relatively seamless • Regularly check for changes to the specifications and the exemplar • Do not just focus on the exemplar

  6. SEV Update - Feedback Evidence Requirements • A slight erring towards generosity in GU 1 in the A and B grades • Markers meeting to iron out issues and enhance consistency • Match the exemplar/assessment against the evidence requirements and record this in IV records

SEV Update – Importance of Internal Verification Specific areas for improvement • Keep a close eye on the higher graded marks in GU 1 • If reviewing examination scripts ensure security is maintained, and candidates will question marking. Best avoided with successful candidates • Marks or grades? • Look at the Unit specifications to check the requirements • Distinguish between remediation and reassessment (NOT for GU examinations)
