  1. What’s Inside A 4Ft LED Tube Light Fixture? Top reasons why you should buy Dimmable LED Downlights These lights are indoor lighting appliances that are most commonly used in offices, homes, and other places. SCROLL www.ledmyplace.com

  2. INDEX • Introduction To LED Tube Light Fixtures • Tube Parts: Casing • Tube Parts: End Caps  • Tube Parts: LED Board(s) and Wiring • Tube Parts: Power Supply • Tube Parts: Aluminum Heat Sink www.ledmyplace.com

  3. Introduction To • LED Tube Light Fixtures • LED Tube Lights are available in several sizes.  • The T8 4ft LED tube light fixture is one of the most popular sizes around the world.  • Since LED tubes can work with or without a ballast, they are an excellent choice for those who want to replace old fluorescent tubes. • Ballast-bypass LED tubes do not need a starter or ballast to operate. They come with an inbuilt driver that functions as the ballast and power controller.  • LED tubes are available in single-end and dual-end models.  • In single-end LED tubes, both live and neutral wires connect at one end, whereas dual-end LED tubes need a live wire connection on one side and neutral on the other. Dual-ended LED tubes take input from both ends.  • LED tube lights last longer than conventional lights and provide bright light output while consuming little energy peruse! www.ledmyplace.com

  4. Tube Parts: End Caps  • The end caps are the points from where an LED tube receives input energy. • Most manufacturers use aluminum for making the end caps. • Although single-ended LED tubes take input from one end, their caps have protrusions on both sides.  • The pins or protrusions on the non-energized end ensure a tight grip on the tombstone. • Tube Parts: LED Chipboard(s) and Wiring • Every LED tube light comes with lots of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) mounted on chipboard. • Tube Lights rated for a higher wattage or lumen output may contain more LEDs per meter.  • Two wires connect the LED chipboard with the power controller or LED driver. • Depending on the correlated color temperature(CCT), which is written in kelvins, different tube lights offer a particular color appearance. • The various CCTs or color appearances available in an LED bulb is warm-white (2700K-3000K), daylight-white(4000K-5000K), and cool-white(5700K-7000K).  www.ledmyplace.com

  5. Aluminum Heat Sink Unlike conventional bulbs, LED lights do not waste large amounts of energy in the form of heat. However, they still put out some heat. Since LEDs are sensitive to high temperatures above 50-60 degrees, it is important to keep that cool at all times. In most cases, the back casing of an LED tube also acts as the heat sink. The heat sink is made up of aluminum and ensures the dissipation of the heat produced while the light is on.  • Tube Parts: Power Supply • Unlike conventional light bulbs, LED lights work on DC voltages.  • An LED driver is responsible for converting the AC voltage into usable DC voltage. • Some LED tubes work with an existing fluorescent ballast because their driver performs the functions of a conventional ballast, i.e. to supply a spike of initial current, then maintain the constant current throughout the operation.  • Some LED drivers are compatible with dimmers, motion sensors, and photocells that offer enhanced lighting control.
