  3. Staff Climate Program: Background (2001 – 2005) • Original Survey of Staff Views & Ideas administered • Chancellor’s Committee on Campus Morale (CCCM) established • Major findings, recommendations, and report generated (www.morale.ucr.edu) • Recommendation champions designated

Staff Climate Program Actions Taken 2006 • EVC/P Wartella requests a second staff climate survey • Wonderlic, Inc. conducts staff climate survey • Encouraging results and areas for attention • Climate Survey Steering Committee (CSSC) established • Six (6) staff open forums held • Work groups and focus groups convened

  5. Staff Climate Program Actions Taken 2007 • Forty recommendations presented to CSSC (http://www.climatesurvey.ucr.edu/) • Open forums held to discuss recommendations • Chancellor Córdova endorses 15 recommendations • Acting Chancellor Grey establishes CACSC

  6. Staff Climate Program Actions Taken 2008 • CACSC activities in three areas: • Recognition • Career Opportunity • Communications • Staff Climate Recommendations work groups formed

  7. Recognition: Motivate and retain staff. Demonstrate appreciation for work efforts. • Staff Recognition Reception • Five Year Service Awards • Improvements to current programs • Recognition Recommendation Work Group plans • Survey • Collaboration with Staff Assembly • Recommendations by end of quarter

  8. Career Opportunity: Improve retention and productivity. Provide professional growth opportunities and campus succession planning. • Job announcements sent regularly via Scot Mail • Internal recruitments concept under review and consideration • Career counseling and assessment provided • Learning Management System • New job series created • Special career development initiatives sponsored by organizational units • Career Opportunity Work Group plans • Staff Portal for job announcements • Career paths and opportunities • Career counselor position
