Snapshots From Our Third Grade Year 2016-2017

Join us on a journey through our third-grade year! From August to December, we engaged in various activities such as identifying character traits, creating bar graphs, participating in book discussions, reading independently, growing seeds, and working with writing partners. Our teacher, Mr. Burg, guided us in reviewing expectations and teaching us about elapsed time. We also took part in challenges like the East Beast Challenge and learned about idioms through quick draws. We enjoyed PBIS reward activities, such as Minute to Win It, with our Buddy Room. Pumpkin Day brought the opportunity to compare the length of our hallway to the height of a rainforest. In November, we sorted words and worked hard on math and habitat research presentations. In December, we incorporated technology into reading and word study tests and learned to share our opinions in preparation for our persuasive/opinion writing. We also had fun with cross-curricular activities, connecting measuring from math, writing fictional stories, and developing social studies map skills. Throughout all these adventures, we remained focused and on-task, making for some truly silly times.
