Self Reflection What is one new way you learned how to use a familiar tool? What tool will you commit to using more often? What tool would you like to still learn more about?

Classroom Management Strategies • Pick a recorder/Spokesperson • Each person writes their 3 best classroom strategy on paper. (to be collected) • Share to small group • Large group sharing
Journey Map • Purpose To reflect on the successes and challenges of being a mentor to beginning teachers.
Journey Map • Use the concept of journey map to reflect upon the school year. • Think of the year and its events, from the beginning of the year to present, as a journey through a landscape. • Use the kinds of physical features that might be found on actual map to symbolize different points along the journey. • Use this metaphor to develop a poster of the journey you have taken this year and will also look ahead to the future. Add features tailored to your own personal experiences.
Journey Map • Label each landscape feature specifically, including names of events, people, obstacles, etc. • Journey might include: Mountains: successes or high points Banners: special events or people Valleys: low points Forests: periods of uncertainty Largest trees: big questions this year Sun: those who cast light upon your work Clouds or boulders: shadows or obstacles to overcome Companions: those who supported you along the way Horizon: visions for next year
