  1. Ps 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. 4 There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. 5 God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn. 6 ¶ The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.

  2. 7 The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. 8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, Who has made desolations in the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire. 10Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! 11 The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge.

  3. Colossae

  4. The Pursuit of Christ-likeness Col 3:17 whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. How?

  5. Pursue Heavenly Mindedness Col 3:1 ¶ If then you were raised with Christ, seek(endeavor, desire) those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Pr 2:3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, 4 If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; 5 Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God. • Ph 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things.

  6. Pursue Sanctification By Putting to Death Col 3:5 ¶ Thereforeput to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.6 because of which the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience: 7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them Ro 8:13 For if you live after the flesh (ruled by earthly desires), you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do put to death the deeds of the body, you shall live.

  7. By Putting Off filthy language blasphemy Col 3:8 ¶ But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, lies wrath anger 1Co 6:8 No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do these things to your brethren! 9 ¶ Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you.

  8. By Putting On Col 3:10 and haveput onthe new man who is renewed in knowledge(epignosis) according to the image of Him who created him, …12 ¶ Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. patience love forgiveness humility 14 But above all these things put onlove, which is the bond(uniting principle) of perfection. Ro 12:2 be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

  9. Conclusion The pursuit of Christ-likeness through pursuing heavenly mindedness and sanctification through the putting off of the “old man” and the putting on of the “new man”, results in the restoration of relationships – In the family, In the workplace, In the church, & In society.
