ANROSP: Promoting Citizen Stewardship of Natural Resources

ANROSP promotes awareness and citizen stewardship of natural resources through science-based education and service programs. It envisions healthy ecosystems and communities through citizen involvement in stewardship. The organization provides leadership, information, and resources to support member programs nationally and internationally, increasing knowledge of best practices for outreach and service programs. Governed by a Board of natural resource professionals, ANROSP offers networking, mentorship, start-up packets, program manager listserv, funding links, program overviews, and more to its members.   1. ANROSP Alliance of Natural Resource Outreach & Service Programs

  2. What is ANROSP? • Mission: To promote awareness and citizen stewardship of natural resources through science-based education and service programs • Vision: ANROSP envisions healthy ecosystems and communities through citizens who learn, teach, and practice natural resource stewardship

  3. ANROSP Goals • To provide leadership, information, and resources to support the establishment and expansion of member programs nationally and internationally. • To serve as the primary nexus of information about natural resource outreach and service programs for natural resource professionals, volunteers, and interested citizens.

  4. ANROSP Goals • To increase knowledge of best practices for natural resource outreach and service programs and encourage their adoption. • To build effective program partnerships and collaborations at local, state, and national levels.

  5. ANROSP Organization • Governed by a Board consisting of natural resource professionals who manage and coordinate programs in 11 different states • Primary members of ANROSP are natural resource outreach & service programs, represented by program administrators and coordinators

  6. ANROSP Provides Members: • Increased networking & resource exchange among program managers • Mentorship for developing programs • Start-up packets for developing programs, including answers to FAQs, templates for commonly used documents, curriculum outlines • Program manager listserv • Bibliography of publications involving Master Naturalist & related programs

  7. ANROSP Provides Members: • Links to funding opportunities • Overviews of different program models • Membership directory • E-journal for white papers on best practices • Annual national conference & conference Proceedings • Access to national survey data
