7. What does your Organisation Do? A business needs to develop a reason for being Have a vision for the future And have a clear idea on how it will accomplish what it sets out to do It does this by; Mission and Vision Statements Goals, Objectives and Strategies
8. A Mission Statement A statement of the purpose of an organisation; its reason for being. It will include: Aims Primary Stakeholders How the organisation provides value 3 Essential Components Key Market – your target Contribution – what do you provide Distinction – what makes you unique
9. Mission StatementsExample "To provide the fast food customer food prepared in the same high-quality manner world-wide that is tasty, reasonably-priced & delivered consistently in a low-key décor and friendly atmosphere.” Who is it? What's the key market? Contribution? Distinction?
10. Vision Statements Outlines where the organisation wants to be Can contain: A long term view Concentrates on the future Can be emotive Can be inspirational May be part of the of the Mission Statement Can also include the organisation’s beliefs
