  4. Course Outline • Text Book – Course Material will be taken from Several books Main Books: • Hydrology and Flood Plain Analysis by Philip B. Bedient (4th Edition) • Hydrology and the Management of Watersheds (3rd Edition. 2003) by Brooks • Water Resources Engineering 2nd Edition by Linsley and Franzini • Hydrology: H. M. Ragunath Status • available in Library/will send links of soft copies

Theory • Introduction to Hydrology and Water Resources • Precipitation: Types, Measurements, Analyses • Hydrologic Losses: Infiltration, Evaporation, Evapotranspiration • Watershed Management : Watershed characteristics, rainfall-runoff response, hydrograph analysis, runoff estimation (runoff models), water budget • Floods: frequency analysis, flood routing, flood forecasting, flood management

  9. Term Project • Individual projects will be assigned to students based on weekly exercises • Project report due at the day of presentation

Homework/Project/Quiz/Exams • Homework: Students will be required to do homework and submit on the date mentioned on homework • Workshop Assignments: Each student will be assigned an exercise after each lab topic covered that will eventually be converted into term project • Quiz: Several in class Quiz (both surprise and informed) • OHT: Two in class OHT (approximately 1/3 of the course coverage) • Lab Midterm: One Lab midterm (decide later) • Project Presentation: One week before Final Exam • Final Exam: Comprehensive coverage of the course during the last week of semester
