  2. More about Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary This sanctuary is located near Umred town and thus, got his name. This sanctuary is divided into four different zones, namely- the Karhandla zone (or Umred Gate), Gothangaon zone, Pullar zone, and Pauni zone. This sanctuary has become quite popular among the tourists as it is not far from Nagpur, and people get to see flora and fauna as well. This is a man-made formed forest, that is an adobe to a few tigers. Along with them, one can also find Leopards. Wild Cats, Wild Dogs, Spotted Deer, Indian Gaur, Barking Deers, Sambar, Langurs, Hyena, and Indian Slot Bear can be found in this forest. And having trees here and there, this sanctuary also feeds some birds. The Pullar Zone- This zone of the sanctuary is not densely populated. You can find some spotted deer, wild dogs, langurs, nilgai, and a few tigers. The Gothangaon Zone- This zone consists of 2-3 small lakes and is home to a few tigers as well. You can also find some wild boar, wild gaur, and other animals (including those already seen in Pullar Zone). The Pauni Zone- This zone is away from the other three zones and is said to have the densest forest as compared to the other zones. The Karhandla Zone- This zone is said to be the largest zone and it can have 20+ jeeps at a time. While you are out for the Karhandla jungle safari, you can expect the leopards to show you up.
