The Sun • Looks like a ball of light • Mad up of gases – hydrogen & helium • Has dark spots called sunspots on its surface • The red streams are solar flares that are gases that shoot out from the sun. • These hot fountains extend tens of THOUSANDS of kilometers into space! WOW! • Sunspots and solar flares only last a few days.
