  2. Listen to the teacher. Raise your hand, wait your turn, and obey classroom rules.

  3. Do not fight or hurt other students.

  4. Do not take things that belong to another person.

  5. Do not damage school property.

  6. Stay in school during school hours and don’t trespass on school property after school hours.

  7. Do not play games for money.

  8. Do not use beepers or cell phones in school.

  9. No tobacco products, matches, or lighters are allowed on school grounds.

  10. Do not curse or use bad language or gestures. SAY NICE THINGS!!!!

  11. Do not tease or make fun of someone because he/she is different. (Skin color, looks, speech, learning ability, boy/girl)

  12. Do not bring laser pointers to school.

  13. Do not create a disturbance by yelling or screaming.

  14. Do not damage the school building or threaten to do so.

  15. Do not bring or use fireworks at school.

  16. No cheating or plagiarizing. This means that the work you turn in is your own. You did not copy someone else’s paper. You wrote things in your own words instead of copying directly from a book.

  17. Come to school, EVERYDAY, ON TIME, unless you are sick or have an excused absence.

  18. Use computers appropriately and with adult supervision. When using the internet, only visit sites that are approved by your teacher.

  19. Never wear clothing that displays or advertises alcohol, tobacco, drugs, or bad language.

  20. Never hit, threaten, or touch any person in a way that may hurt them or make them feel bad.

  21. Never bring, use, sell, or give away alcohol or drugs (or look-alike drugs).

  22. Prescription drugs (from a doctor) must be brought to school by a parent with a form signed by the doctor. These are kept in the nurse’s office.

  23. Over-the-counter drugs (can be bought in a store). These may be brought in by a parent, left in the nurse’s office, and given out when needed.

  24. Never bring to school any gun, look-alike gun, knife, or weapon. Also, do not bring any explosive device.

  25. Objective: Write a three paragraph essay about the Code of Conduct. • Paragraph 1: Introduction: Explain what the Code of Conduct is, and why you think it is important for us all to learn the rules. Tell the reader which rule you feel is MOST important. Tell three reasons why you think it is important. • Paragraph 2: Discuss how you plan to obey this rule. Who will help remind you? What should you do if you see this rule being broken? • Paragraph 3: Briefly explain what might be some consequences for not following this rule. Then conclude by restating that you feel this rule is important for helping us learn in a safe school.
