  7. How do I figure out what I want to do after I graduate?http://www.careercruising.comYou can do assessments to determine your interests and skills and how they relate to your career choices. You may also research careers and take a look at the job descriptions, working conditions, education, and earnings. Another feature of www.careercruising is Education. Once you click on this icon, you find schools that offer the program, you are interested in.

Cont. • Accessing websites (www.schoolfinder.com, www.careercruising.com, www.bridges.com) to access information of specific careers, schools, programs, scholarships.  • Attending information sessions provided by various university, colleges, and other professionals visiting. • Attending Open Houses (Schedule found under Announcement section of the Guidance Wiki). • Viewing prospective schools’ websites and taking e-tours • Contacting students who are currently attending those post-secondary institutions which are of interest    • Considering taking relevant courses and, furthermore,  seizing relevant work and volunteer experiences whenever possible (www.volunteer.ca) • Students are encouraged to make additional appointments if they have concerns, questions, or need help in the future

  10. NBCC Applications • Submit your application for admission by telephone, fax, Internet, or mail. All applications are sent to Campbellton, NB. • Pay the application fee of $25 for each program (maximum of two) by sending a cheque or money order made payable to the Minister of Finance.Submit your official High School, transcripts. It is important that your transcript of marks demonstrates how you meet, or are in the process of meeting, the admission requirements.Please note:  We will accept your grade 11 transcript until your grade 12 transcript is available. • http://www.nbcc.ca/en/home/default.aspx • ChatWorks is now available on the NBCC site.   13. Scholarships The Guidance Wiki has local, regional and national scholarships. Many of the scholarships have direct links that may be downloaded at home. In the Guidance Centre, students will also find a binder with copies of the scholarships as well as copies in a file organizer.

Scholarships on Guidance Wiki HOW DO YOU FIND SCHOLARSHIPS???? • Entrance Scholarships (Post Secondary Institutions) • Most post secondary institutions provide a space on their application form. • Some institutions require a separate application form, so inquire through the institution’s admissions’ office or the institution’s website. • Websites You may register your specific information ON-LINE with some of the sites listed below. They will keep you updated once you are registered or you may simply check sites for lists of scholarships. • www.studentawards.com • www.scholarshipscanada.com • www.canlearn.com • www.neads.ca • Contacts • Your employer, your parents’ employers, service clubs you belong to (or your parents), insurance companies, banks, etc. Consider all connections you or your parents have, and ask if they have a scholarship program. • Local/ School Scholarships • There are applications found in the Guidance Centre. Students may peruse the binder of scholarships (original copies) in order by deadline date to see if they fit the criteria and then take the copy found in the file folders provided.   16. NB High School Grad. Req. Graduation Requirements • Do you have everything you need to graduate? • If you are short a compulsory course, or need an extra credit, see Mrs. Byers. Students need 17 credits to graduate. English 111/112/113 – 2 credits English 121/122/123 Math G&A 111/112 or Applications in Math 1 science credit – Biology, physics, chemistry, Phys. Geo., Agriculture, Env. Science, Auto Elec. Syst., Intr. to Electronics, Robotics and Technology Modern History 111/112/113 or FIMH 110 One Fine Arts or Life Role Development course: Fine Arts - Vis. Arts, Music, Theatre Arts or Graphic Art and Design Life Role Development - Family Living, Co-op, Outdoor Pursuits, Phys.ed. Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Reading Tutor . 5 credits must be grade 12 courses
