  • Created in 1983
  • 35 research teams on 4 sites (Sophia Antipolis, Marseille, Montpellier and Bologna in Italy) in partnership (half of them) with CNRS, universities and engineering schools
  • Three main scientific domains :
      • Computational Biology and Medicine
      • Ubiquitous Computing and Communications
      • Modeling, Simulating and Interacting with the real world
  • Host of the European group ERCIM (European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics), which is itself the European host of the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).
