Introducing KCI’s Nano Ceramic Coatings Technology • KCI is the leader in detergent nano ceramic coatings. • Now there is only one product that cleans, coats, and seals. • Most testing was done at 80 degrees. • No more pH adjustment. • Superior to iron phosphate coatings. • Nano ceramics are eco-friendly.

  2. N-8028 is a non phosphate detergent nano ceramic coating. It may be used in a one stage (or higher) spray or soak washer. N-8028 is used to treat all types of metal substrates. This product is an excellent alternative for customers in areas where phosphate discharges are not permitted. N-8028 provides excellent paint corrosion protection. If using a high quality powder coating you can expect a salt spray endurance between 500 to 1000 hours. If the application is a wet coat using a premium paint, expect a salt spray endurance of 100 to 200 hours. N-8028 is a one package system, no more pH adjustment. N-8028 can clean, coat and seal with using only one product. According to the experts, nano ceramic coatings are superior to iron phosphates in both powder and wet coat applications. Nano ceramics are highly eco-friendly.

But only nano ceramic coatings can achieve salt spray hours of 100 to 200 hours on wet coat painting operations.

  6. The two panels on the left were treated by the competitor’s nano ceramic coating in a lab environment. A minimum of a 3 stage pretreatment system was used. The two panels on the right were treated with KCI’s N-8028 in the lab with a 3 stage pretreatment system. Panels were treated at 90 degrees. KCI’s proof of the success of N-8028.

  8. The sample panel on the left was treated with an iron phosphate. The one on the right was treated with KCI’s N-8028. Both panels were painted with Universal Coatings black durethane paint. Both were tested for salt spray resistance of 100 hours. After doing a tape test, the paint totally pulled away from the surface of the panel on the left. The one on the right, KCI’s N-8028, exhibited excellent resistance to the tape test. No paint was released from that scribe.

  10. Cleaning • The two parts pictured are made up of cargo steel. Thisparticular steel is a high carbon steel. When the steel is handled, the smut from the steel causes everything that comes in contact with it to turn black, including your hands. This particular customer was having problems cleaning steel. KCI’s N-8028 was effective at cleaning this particular steel at 30 feet per minute, and a temperature of 90 to 95 degrees. The parts were done in a 2 stage spray washer.
