  4. Tardiness • School starts promptly at 8:00 A.M. • If your child isn’t in the classroom by the time the second bell rings, please have him/her check in at the school office before coming to class. • Instruction and review begin immediately! Punctuality is vital.

  5. Benchmark Testing Windows Quarter 1: Oct. 24 to Nov. 08 Quarter 2: Jan. 08 to Feb. 01 Quarter 3: March 28 to April 10

  6. WAYS YOU CAN HELP YOUR CHILD AT HOME • On a regular basis ask to see your child’s homework. • Help your child with their homework, but do not do it for them. • Have a quiet place for your child to do their homework. • Read daily with your child. • Set limits on what your child watches and for how long. • Make sure your child eats a nutritious breakfast and gets plenty of sleep every day. • Keep your child at home if they are not well.

  7. Snack Time Brain Food! • Fruits • Vegetables • Granola Bars • Nuts/Raisins • Cheese/Whole grain crackers

  8. Homework • We will assign about 20 minutes of homework Mon.-Thurs., along with 20 minutes of reading. • Your homework is due every day. • Missed assignments must be turned in the following day.

  9. New Report Cards! • Standards based • Questions will be addressed during the fall parent conferences • Please review it beforehand.

  10. Teacher’s Wish List • #2 pencils • glue sticks • dry erase markers • baby wipes • liquid soap • tissues • ziploc baggies (all sizes) • blank CD’s • antibacterial gel
