Battle of Stalingrad • Was a major defeat for the German army as it had attempted to knock the Soviets out of the war and secure their oil reserves.
D-Day • Was the day the allies launched their invasion of Northern France on June 6, 1944.
Holocaust • Was the systematic and state sponsored attempt to annihilate Europe's Jewish and other deemed undesirables populations.
Battle of Midway • Was a major battle in the Pacific which stemmed the tide of the war in favor of the allies.
Battle of Okinawa • Was a major battle in the Pacific and the last of the outer islands in the defense of japan.
Manhattan Project • Was the united states’ secret project to develop and build the atomic bomb.
