ACROSS TF2Progress report – April 2015 Summary of activities: • 9 telcos held up to now • 4 dedicated to networking and a road map drafting • 4 dedicated to a paper drafting for QCMan 2015 • 1 dedicated to reporting and coordination of the activities • Mailing list created • kindly hosted by University of Maribor (Slovenia) • TF consists of 19 members spreaded across Europe and Israel • 5 active IGs and 1 IG on a stand-by regime 2

ACROSS TF2Progress report – April 2015 IG1:A context-based QoE monitoring 3 • Leader: Florian Metzger(Univesity of Duisburg-Essen, D) • Number of members: 10 • Focus: User-centric, context-aware QoE monitoring & network management • Output: QCMan 2015 paper • Driving force behind creating this IG • Paper drafted in parallel with a road map • Current activities: • working on an extension of this paper for a journal submission • designing a cloud gaming experiment

ACROSS TF2Progress report – April 2015 IG2: A service-specific QoE estimation models for SDN 4 • Leader: No leader appointed so far as this IG is on a stand-by regime • No inputs from other TFs/WGs so far • Focus: a development of QoE estimation models for SDN • As this activity is going to be covered by TF8, we have decided during a joint meeting with TF8 to close down this IG in TF2

ACROSS TF2Progress report – April 2015 IG3:A cross-layer QoE management 5 • Leader: Thomas Zinner(Univesity of Wuerzburg, D) • Number of members: 9 • Focus: • A cross-layer SLA/QoS management for multi cloud-based services • Application-Network Interaction • Output: None so far (a quite young activity) • Current activity: • Kicked-off during this meeting

ACROSS TF2Progress report – April 2015 IG4:Time-aware applications, computers and communication systems 6 • Leader: Hugh Melvin(NUI Galway, IE) • Number of members: 6 • Focus: time awareness in SDN • Output: None so far (a quite young activity) • Current activities: • Drafting a paper for EuCNC 2015 showcasing an importance of time awareness for VoIP and multimedia apps • Designing an online gaming experiment to showcase an importance of time awareness in this context

ACROSS TF2Progress report – April 2015 IG6:QoE in mobile networks 7 • Leader: Ahmed Elmokashfi (Simula Research Lab, NO) • Number of members: 7 • Focus: Mobile Broadband Performance and QoE • Output: None so far (a quite young activity) • Current activities: • Fine-tuning a scope of this IG • identifying factors that are only relevant to mobile users • Planning to work on a white/position paper in a near future

ACROSS TF2Progress report – April 2015 IG7:QoE management in the context of unified communication and collaboration services 8 • Leader: Jasmina Barakovic Husic(Uni of Sarajevo, BiH) • Number of members: 2 • Focus: QoE management of unified communication and collaboration services • Output: None so far (a quite young activity) • Current activities: • Designing an experiment on user’s satisfaction with native and Web-based unified communication apps

ACROSS TF2Progress report – April 2015 Cooperations and STSMs: 9 • Cooperation with TF8 recently established • A joint f2f meeting run during this meeting • 22 participants • lively discussions on research topics to be covered by both TFs • high correlation between our research interests • liaise and run joint f2f meetings during regular ACROSS meetings • Planning a couple of STSMs for this year: • Details are currently discussed • How many slots (out of 10 planned for this year) can be allocated to TF2?
