Application Information for Lost Passport Declaration • Notices: • The application should be completed personally. • Foreigners who have lost their passports should report to NIA. • After reporting, you should take the record to nation's embassy in the ROC to apply for a new passport or travel documents. • The new travel documents should be taken to the service center of the NIA for exit processing before leaving the country. 2013 Orientation for International Students

KSU Student Dormitory Dormitory Hours: Gates are opened by the caretaker on duty at 6:00 AM and are closed at 02:00 AM of the next day. ● Trash and other refuse should be put in the garbage truck beside the Administration Center. ● Do not install electric appliances irrelevant for studies without the permission of the dormitory supervisor. ● Visitors (excluding the relatives of dormitory residents) are not allowed in the dormitories at any time, and relatives on visits should sign the register at the information counter on the first floor. ● Keeping pets in the dormitory is strictly prohibited. 2013 Orientation for International Students

  24. KSU Student Dormitory ● Smoking, drinking, and gambling are not allowed under any circumstances. For the safety sake, the use of the rooftop is also not allowed without permission. ● Resident students should be familiar with the emergency evacuation procedures. ● Students should notify the staff before leaving the campus for vacations. If a student is unable to return to the dormitory at the specified time, the student should call the floor staff before 11:00 PM of that day. ● Students who wish to stay during the winter and summer vacation should notify Office of International Affairs. 2013 Orientation for International Students

Kitchen Rules • You must be responsible for your garbage. • While you are cooking, bring A PLASTIC BAG to put your KITCHEN WASTES in. • You must CLEAN the “PREPAREA, STOVE, TABLE AND SINK” after using. Cleaning cloths and kitchen cleanser are available in the kitchen. • After using the MICROWAVE or the OVEN, CLEAN IT. • IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KEEP THE KITCHEN CLEAN, THEN DON’T USE IT!!! 2013 Orientation for International Students

  27. Kitchen Rules KEEP YOUR PERSONAL STUFF IN YOUR CORRESPONDING “KITCHEN CABINET” OR IN YOUR ROOM. OTHERWISE, IT WILL BE THROWN AWAY.

  29. Public Areas Kitchen Rules • BE RESPONSIBLE OF YOUR GARBAGE AND DON’T LEAVE IT IN THE HALLWAYS OR IN ANY OTHER PUBLIC AREA. • KEEP THE PUBLIC AREAS CLEAN (LIVING ROOM, LAUNDRY ROOM, HALLWAYS, SHELVES, TABLES, CHAIRS, ETC..) • IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KEEP THE PUBLIC AREAS CLEAN, DON’T USE IT.

Study in KSU • 4-year departments: Total credits are no less than 128 credits • (or depends on the regulation of each department). • 2-year departments: Total credits are 72 credits. • (except for the military training and the physical education • (PE).) • The master postgraduate must take at least 24 credits (6 credits of the thesis excluded). The department/graduate school have power to decide and implement principal approved. • The full grades are 100 and 70 is the qualified; no make-up for the unqualified and the basic integrated subjects require retaken. 2013 Orientation for International Students

Leave of Absence ● Types of leave of absence: Sick leave, Personal leave, Official leave ● Students who apply for leave of absence (sick leave and personal leave): The applicant must fill out the triplicate form (ask advisor or department assistant for triplicate form) and register at the Division of Student Life Guidance within 3 days based on Leave of Absence Notice. ● For applying the official leave, an approval is required. Students must fill out the form and hand in to Division of Student Life Guidance. ※ To avoid the delay of study plan. Students of Master Program must get the Advisors’ approval for their summer and winter vacations’ leave. 2013 Orientation for International Students
