  6. Highlights • 6 to 8 Hours Rest • Prevent poor health • Lack of sleep contributes to low energy, headaches & poor performance • Drains vitality

  7. Exercise • Stimulate blood circulation & metabolism • 3 Disciplines • Cardio • Strength training • Flexibility

  8. Exercise for your brain • This profession is mentally challenging as well as physical. • Reading is the best exercise for your brain

  9. Stress Management Your ability to manage stress will balance your mental health

  10. Nutrition • The process of converting raw materials in the form of carbohydrates, fats and proteins into energy

  11. Energy is measured in calories and used by the body to: • Regulate Body temperature • Repair • Move & Think • The U.S. Government has set the RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance) that establishes the nutrient intakes of people

  13. Activity Create an Nutrition Journal for one week • Log: Everything you put in your mouth for one week • You will turn this in for a daily grade.

  14. Hygiene • Prevent body odor • Bathe regularly • Use deodorant • Avoid excessive cologne • Clean clothes • Prevent Bad Breath (halitosis)
