  2. Kunnutcha Building Company

  3. Company Profile It was the Kunnutcha’s insight & understanding of middle class people’s needs that led her to form this unique building company. Formed in 1995 and the beginnings of the ‘tree change’ movement as people began to move out of the urban maze of the city and into the country and a place where individuality and solace could be sought. Kunnutcha quickly recognized the need for homes that reflected these values and today, those same values are reflected in the company’s product - equally at home in both rural and urban environments.

  4. Six words capture the essence of Kunnutcha Building Company: We understand. We empathize. We deliver. We understand that lifestyle is about personal choice and values, about individuality, design, image, sustainability, romance and flair. We empathize that a home and its environment should be as one. Like you, we too chose to be individual. In choosing not to be like other mainstream builders we are committed to deliver

  5. Comparing Kunnutcha Kunnutcha Building Company’s housing products are unique and different. Yes, there may be some homes out there that look like ours, but that’s where any similarity ends. We have always provided that bit more.

  6. We start with a thick 100mm slab that will stand the test of time. We make extra allowance for engineering and surveying. Our roofs are all Colorbond. Even our standard oven has a separate grill. It’s these unseen benefits that make us different. With the displayed product it is the window types, the bush poles, unlined verandahs and exposed timbers, the steel work and external materials, the raking windows, the curved roof, the skillion roof, the high ceilings, the very elements that make Kunnutcha Building Company unique and the essence of our personality.

  7. Clean architectural lines, the extent of glazing and portal frames, the volume of the rooms and the external finishes - these are the difference between us and everybody else. And unlike most project homes, our houses just don’t have the façade, they look good from at least three sides. A typical project home when exposed on a large site can look quite ugly.

  8. But most importantly it is the design itself, so essential to Kunnutcha Building Company ethos. It is just not a compromise Yes, there is a cost in achieving our outcomes, so when you are comparing, talk to us about your aspirations and we will help you understand where we can be of assistance and where we are not prepared to compromise.

  9. Meeting your financial expectations can, at times, be very easy, but it requires a more in-depth understanding of what we provide and what we believe are the imperatives so very necessary for us to deliver our promises to you.

  10. Kunnutcha Building Company homes are unique. You'll see the difference in our designs, our building techniques and the materials we use. Most importantly, you'll notice a difference in how we treat our clients and the environment. Our homes are available as far away as bayside Frankston, Brighton & Sandrignham, inner city Toorak, Port Melbourne & Docklands, then down the Great Ocean Road to Torquay and the Otway ranges.

  12. The new product 1.The Durack Classic

  13. What is it about Australia’s unique environment that speaks to you? Is it the bush? The wattle and the gums, the tree ferns and the birds. Is it the coast? The endless shades of blue, the changing moods of the sea, the doctor’s breeze and the cry of the gull. Or is it our suburbs? Safe broad streets, backyard cricket and barbeques, yet still influenced by the scent of eucalypt and the colors of wattle and banksias.

  14. 2.The Karri Creek

  15. Designed for the perfect outlook, The Karri Creek from the Views Range has been designed for those who want to take advantage of their surrounding scenery. The large expansive free form living area with open plan kitchen connects outside to the open alfresco complete with timber bush poles and gabled roof. The mixture of colorbond cladding, timber poles and earthy toned face brick make this solar passive design blend in with the Australian landscape.

  16. 3.The Kingston

  17. When defining the traditional Australian homestead, one cannot help but conjure up images of large verandahs, open spaces with raking ceilings, earthy tones, timber poles and corrugated tin on the roof. These images build a home that undeniably compliments the landscape we have grown to love and are characteristics we pride ourselves in continuing to bring to life in the houses we build.

  18. 4.The Argyle

  19. he inspiration for the Argyle can be traced back to the genesis of The Rural Building Company, and the Durack, one of our original designs. Both houses sit comfortably on many suburban corner lots, as does the Bushland Retreat, another home whose influence can be seen in the Argyle. Like its forebears though, the Argyle is best suited to a rural or semi-rural setting, where the soaring windows of the central living area maximize views and bring home and setting into harmony.

  20. 5.The Sorrento

  21. The quintessential West Australian beach house sits comfortably in a cloud of salt infused air. Sun-baked beach towels hang stiff over balcony railings. Aluminium dinghy huddling safe beneath the protected canopy of decking soaking in a marinade of burley and two-stroke. When we designed The Sorrento, these are the things we sought to encapsulate.
