Importance of Intellectual Property (IP) • Knowledge Society & Economy and IP is a fundamental business asset in the 21st century economy. • Universities are excellent sources of innovative technologies to be transferred to the industries. • Industry looks at the universities as sources of technology to fuel economic growth. • This transfer is done by the Technology Transfer Offices,known as the Innovation Office at SFU.
