National Maori Accountants Network Draft for discussion Measurements Indicators for achieving our distinctive capabilities Strategies Critical things we must do to achieve our goals • Develop and maintain a national support network for members thru the regional bodies, where established. • Develop a diverse membership base. • Encourage regional bodies to grow and develop. • Organise a national hui a tau. • Coordinate PD sessions of national interest for members thru regional bodies where appropriate. • Promote the use of te reo maori me nga tikanga Maori. • Number of members and number ofregional bodies. • Level of member satisfaction. • Quality and calibre of members (i.e. qualifications, experience). • Annual growth in regional membership. • Level of member satisfaction with region. • Level of satisfaction with Hui a tau. • PD sessions are held on issues of national significance. • Level of reo and tikanga knowledge amongst members. • Number of Maori in the Accounting profession. • Number of Maori students majoring in Accounting at tertiary and secondary level. • Number of recruitment initiatives. • Number of Maori in senior levels of responsibility. • Level of Maori participation in ICANZ (i.e. members, committee representation, Maori based PD sessions). • Number of Maori competition winners, prizes and awards. • Number of Maori kaupapa and related articles in recognised professional and business publications. • Level of post graduate study in Accounting and kaupapa Maori business and accounting practices. • Promote, encourage and support Maori into the profession. • Promote the advancement of Maori within the profession. • Promote academic and professional excellence such as prizes, scholarships and competition participation. • Lobby and advocate for Maori interests in the profession. • Educate the profession on relevant aspects of Maori culture. • Encourage research into Maori accounting and business related topics. • Build the business and financial capabilities of Maori organisations. • Promote and increase members involvement in Maori economic organisations and initiatives. • Establish pathways for the growth of Maori economic leaders. • Number of members delivering financial services to Maori organisations. • Number of members in governance roles. • Number of members in managerial roles. • Number of leadership initiatives organised or events attended by members. • Develop and maintain a strong and positive relationship with: • ICANZ • Tertiary institutions • Key Maori stakeholders • Other key stakeholders • Number of memorandums of understanding implemented and operating. • Market our organisation to key stakeholders. • Identify and secure revenue streams. • Ensure appropriate representation and communication with regions and members. • Implement efficient and effective systems and cost effective practices. • Level of awareness amongst stakeholders. • Quality of sponsors. • Amount of revenue. • Full representation of regional bodies on the national executive. • Number of executive meetings. • Number of communiqué from national to members. • Annual plan and budget. • Unqualified annual audit opinion.
