  5. Challenge • If you were asked to approximate the square root of 10 what would you do? • Take a few minutes brainstorm with your group.

  6. Challenge Response • Use your knowledge that 3x3 gives you the perfect square 9, and 4x4 gives you the perfect square 16. • The square root of 10 is then likely a decimal in the 3’s. You could approximate that the square root of 10 is 3.1

  7. Activity • Create a floor plan for a square space. You must tile your floor with a tile amount that amounts to a perfect square. Once complete writethe perfect square beneath your plan as well as the square root. Additionally you must label the dimensions of your square and label the room!
