  1. How to Build an Air Plane By Nathan Hogan and Zach Peterson

  2. Materials • You will need… • EPP foam • Sharpies • Exacto knife • Ruler • Carbon Rods • Templates • Paint • Glue • Straight pens • Motter • Control Rods

  3. Getting Started • First you lay the EPP foam down on a flat surface and trace the template with a sharpie.

  4. Cutting it out • You cut out the traced template with an exacto knife and your ruler to keep it straight. Make sure you cut straight up and down!

  5. Making the Hinges • To make the hinges you cut the area for the hinge into two, and then cut the area at which the hinges are to go at a 45 degree angle. Then you glue the two cut areas together to create a hinge.

  6. Putting It All Together • Put the pieces of the plane together, making the frame of the plane.

  7. Painting • First, re-trace the template on a poster board and make a design. Then, cut out your design.

  8. Painting • Pin down your design with straight pens and spray your color of choice.

  9. Painting • Uncover unsprayed areas and spray them.

  10. Painting • Continue putting on more layers until you are satisfied.

  11. Putting in Engine and Controls • First cut holes for the servos and put them in. Then, you attach the control arms and put the engine on the front.

  12. Putting in Engine and Controls • Next, bind the servos with the controller and glue Velcro on the bottom for the batteries.

  13. Connect plane to controller and fly!
