  2. General Information • Official website of travel bureau of Taiwan: http://www.tbroc.gov.tw/ • Weather: Hot and humid, monsoon • Clothes: Uniform if possible. No flip flops at work. • Bring your own towels and toiletries when the group is not staying at hotel. • Luggage: As simple as possible

  3. Visa • Visa: Exempt for US Citizens if staying less than 90 days. If you are holding another country’s passport, please refer to: • Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs at http://www.boca.gov.tw/content?mp=2&CuItem=1443

  4. Activities • Exploring universal health care and experiencing the cultures in Taiwan • Visiting hospitals, making observations, and asking questions • Caring for the vulnerable - field trip to aboriginal tribes • Working with elementary school kids and elderly for health promotion purposes (activities include health education and home visits) • Sight seeing- bicycle riding is fun!

  10. Recommended Teaching Strategies • Team up with local college students to work with non-English speaking people • For kids - games such as charades, show & tell, sing along, exercise/movement… bonfire • For elderly – handcrafts, card games, etc. • Be flexible and creative
