RoaldDahls Parents • RoaldDahls father ,Harold was Norwegian .When he was fourteen he had a terrible accident and had to get his left arm amputated but in spite of a missing hand he always managed to tie his and his kids shoelaces. • Roald`smother,Sofie,was also Norwegian.She married Harold in 1911 and they had 5 children: Astri,Alfhild,Roald,Else and Esta.Roald was the only boy in a family of sisters.

3. Roalds Life Astri died from appendicitis when she was seven, and Roalds father died of a broken heart two months later, Roald was only three at the time. Roald Dahl also had a much older half brother and half sister , Louis and Ellen as his father had been married before. Roald was very close to his sisters, particularyhis big sister, Alfhid or Alf.His middle sister Else,hated school [like Roald].When her mother sent Else to boarding school in Switzerland Else ate her boarding ticket.

4. Roalddahl • RoaldDahls youngest sister Asta , joined the RAF during the second world war.She flew in barrage balloons in the UK and later received a medal from the King of Norway. • Asta got half her dads money in his will after he died. • Roald Dahl himself had five children:Olivia,Tessa,Theo,Ophliea and Lucy.Tragically Olivia died of Measles when she was seven the same as his eldest sister Astri.
