  2. Servo Quality Zero Backlash Couplings • Magnetic Couplings and Clutches

  3. 20 years of power transmission knowledge and expertise. Manufacturing and Engineering support in our Addison, IL facility. Large inventories of common components to assure quick delivery - 24 hours in many applications. Customized designs available. .

  4. Zero Backlash Servo Couplings Miniature Couplings Metal Bellows Couplings Servo Insert Couplings

  5. Metal Bellows Couplings • AKN - collet clamp • CK - flange mounting

  6. Metal Bellows Coupling Features Zero Backlash - Highest Torsional Stiffness available in a flexible coupling Low Inertia - lightweight Stainless Bellows and Aluminum hubs Compensates for misalignment, which protects system bearings Designs can be completely customized to “drop in” any application

  7. Metal Bellows Coupling Applications • High-production transfer lines • Robot ballscrew slides and gearboxes • CNC machine tools • Packaging machines • Textile machines • Printing presses • Any servo driven application where rotational position is critical

  8. Servo Insert Couplings • ADS - collet clamp connection

  9. Servo Insert Coupling Features Zero Backlash - High Torsional Stiffness Low Inertia - lightweight Aluminum hubs and Poly-Urethane Insert Compensates for Misalignment, which protects system bearings Vibration Dampening Low cost alternative to Bellows Couplings

  10. Servo Insert Coupling Applications • All Servo applications, same as Metal Bellows Couplings • Machines with tight space requirements or Blind Installations • Cost driven applications • Machines with higher load inertia and resonance problems (dampening)

  11. Miniature Couplings • DKN - collet clamp connection

  12. Miniature Coupling Applications • X-Y slides • Actuators • Encoder or other feedback mounting • Semi-Conductor Machines • Assembly Machines

  13. Magnetic Couplings and Clutches • Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Couplings • Permanent-Magnet Hysteresis Clutches

  14. Hysteresis and Synchronous Magnet Couplings and Clutches • HSV flange type • RCC 866 universal Capping Clutch • HKD collet type • MKD collet type • MDC disc type • MSV cylindrical type

  15. Hysteresis Magnet Clutch Applications • Bottle cap tightening • Tension control • Winding/unwinding • Packaging, converting, and food processing machines

  16. Typical Bottle Capping Machine with Hysteresis Clutch

  17. Synchronous Coupling Features & Functions • Transmit high amounts of torque without contact. • Completely eliminate the need for shaft seals by transmitting torque through stainless steel barriers, guaranteeing 100% leak free operation. • All stainless steel construction available for complete hermetic sealing of the coupling, so it can operate completely submerged. • Excellent in Quick Disconnect applications. As magnetism does not have strict alignment requirements, all that is needed is to get the two hubs fairly close together, and you have an automatic connection. MDC – Permanent-Magnet Synchronous “Barrier” Coupling – Disc Type

  18. Synchronous Coupling Features & Functions • Eliminate vibration from one shaft to the next, as there is no physical connection. • Torque Limitation – These clutches all have an inherent ability to limit torque by slipping at their preset torque level. • High misalignment capability even with high parallel offset. • All Rimtec Couplings can be modified to fit your current application, and new custom designs are also available to meet your more unique requirements.

  19. Synchronous Coupling Applications • Chemical Pumps • Extruders • Refrigeration Compressors • Bulk Mixers • Fuel Cell • Quick disconnect / Automation • High offset applications • Vacuum Environments • Clean Rooms • Nuclear Facilities • Food Processing • Frequent disengaging torque limitation
