  3. Journal Entry Saturday, October 31, 1869 “I was best known for my work on the periodic table, which was arranging the 63 known elements into a periodic table based on the atomic mass. This idea was published in my book called Principals of Chemistry in 1869. Although my periodic table would be modified a number of times. One person in particular who did modify the periodic table was Henry Moseley. The table was meant to accommodate the discovery of isotopes and rare gases. In the beginning I provided the variance from strict atomic weight order. During the time I was creating the periodic table I predicted three yet to be discovery elements including eke silicon and eke boron. Three of the elements were found during scandium, germanium and lifetime gallium.”
