  2. What is? • TheRoku Streaming Stick has all the basic features like search, access to all the channels, and it comes with a remote. It also has dual-band wireless, and you can stream directly from Netflix and YouTube apps on your Smartphone, similar to the Google Chrome cast. • The Roku Streaming Stick supports resolutions up to 1080p Full HD.

Steps to Setup Roku Streaming Stick The following steps involved to activate Roku Streaming Stick. • Set up a Roku account. • Connect the Roku to a TV. • Select a language on the Welcome screen. • Select whether you have a wired or wireless Internet connection. • Roku detect your display type. • Link your Roku account. • Wait for your Roku to update.

  4. Setup a Roku Account • In order to Activate Roku Streaming Stick, it must be linked to a Roku account. Your Roku account keeps track of which Roku devices you own and allows you to add free and purchase channels from the Roku Channel Store. • Instructions for activating your Roku Streaming Stick will be displayed on your TV, including an activation code; e.g. “XCV5TG”. You will be required to get the Roku enter code.

  5. Connect the Roku to your TV • The Roku Streaming Stick can be connected to any TV that has an available HDMI input. • This can be done by plugging it directly into the HDMI port. • If you get the best audio results, connect the Stick into a Home Theater Receiver.

  6. Select a language on the Welcome screen • When your Roku Streaming Stick powers on, the first screen will allow you to choose a language. All text and dialog within the Roku application will be displayed in the selected language. • Scroll up and down the list and press the OK button  on your Roku remote to choose a language.

  7. Select whether you have a wired or wireless Internet connection • Choose your wireless network from the list of available networks and enter your password. This is most often the same network you use to connect your computer or Smartphone to the internet. If you do not see your network, select Scan again to see all networks • If you want to see your password as you type, choose Show password. • Once you have entered your password and selected Connect. Your Roku Streaming Stick will automatically connect to the internet

  8. Roku detect your display type • Select Set display type and let your Roku Streaming Stick auto detect the best display resolution so you don’t have to manually configure the settings. To change the display type at a later time, go to Settings > Display type.

  9. Link your Roku account • Once its completed, the first screen you see will say Activate Your Roku. Make a note of the on-screen code. It will be six digits long. • Enter the code and click Submit. • You Roku Streaming Stick will now be linked to your account, and the on-screen image will change to the Roku’s Home screen.

  10. Wait for your Roku to update • Roku will now update each channel, as well as the system software, if necessary. This process will take a few minutes, but you'll only have to do it once.
