Open books to page 177 • Review the definitions provided for each element of style • Next, film in the right hand column of the boxes • You want to choose a cinematic technique that best matches with the element of style provided • For example: • Use the learning focus on page 142 as a reference page

  6. Page 178: Venn Diagram • Now, with the three films we viewed, you are going to discover the similarities and differences between character, theme, and cinematic techniques • Label your circles with each film. • Charlie and the Chocolate Factory • Edward Scissorhands • Corpse Bride

Examples and Thesis Come up with 4-5cinematic elements that you MIGHT use in your essay Come up with different examples from the three films that support these cinematic elements Narrow down your choices to 3 or 4, depending on how long you want your essay to be ;) Write your thesis statement based on the 3 or 4elements you choose Do this on a separate piece of paper, and staple to the back of your packet---that way, it’s included with the packet for FUTURE EXTRA CREDIT!!!!
