I Am Poem

I Am Poem. I AM POEM. I am caring and loving. I wonder if I am reaching any of my students. I hear my name being called one hundred times a day. I want my students to stay away from drugs and gangs. I pretend that I can make a difference. I feel sad that they won’t all make it.

  2. I AM POEM I am caring and loving. I wonder if I am reaching any of my students. I hear my name being called one hundred times a day. I want my students to stay away from drugs and gangs. I pretend that I can make a difference. I feel sad that they won’t all make it. I touch the sky with my imagination. I worry that some of my students will turn to drugs. I cry when I get frustrated. I am caring and loving. I understand that you can’t save everyone. I say that you can be anything you choose to be. I dream that I will reach them all. I try to be thankful and happy everyday. I hope that I will be lucky in my life. I am caring and loving. Brooke Cohen

My forehead is an open field, Where the furry animals of my eyebrows graze. My eyes are luminous bodies of water, reflecting the sun. My nose is like Mount Everest; I imagine climbing its peak, Building a fire on cold nights in the caverns of my nostrils. I admire the canyons of my ears, the slopes of my chin, my cheeks’ sands and tiny craters. I am stardust. I am my world, and of the world.
