  1. It would be much too dangerous to talk about the time when I was almost bit by a black widow. Throughout my life I have always been afraid of spiders whether their big or small I have had so much hatred towards them. Spiders are my weakness, my hatred, and most of all my worst fear. It was during the summer when I felt the sudden goose bumps and cold shiver on my arm. I was minding my own business talking to my sister Diana, leaning up against my dad’s trailer when all of a sudden I felt so cold as if my arm was dead cold and wasn't able to move it the slightest bit. I looked over to my arm and there it was my worst nightmare, a black widow. I stared at the spider for about ten to fifteen seconds crawling closer to my arm where my veins were. The closer it was getting the colder the shiver became. I screamed and swatted the black widow away from me. As soon as I swatted the spider it immediately took out its tiny hairy arms and made a web and flew away as if the air had blown it away from my arm. Even though I didn’t feel a bite or see two little holes into my skin it was to awful and scary that I imagined it had already bit me and venom was streaming through my system. I screamed, yelled, and cried until I was able to find my mom. My mom looked at my arm several times and saw nothing that she didn’t even believe me. I was only eight years old and had a world wide imagination that I stayed in my room crying for hours believing I had been bitten by a black widow and I was going to faint, or pass out any moment. I would close my eyes and picture the black widow exactly as it was with its every detail. Till this day I can remember what it looks like. The black widow has its name for the same reason it is completely black, has eight legs, and has a red hourglass on its back. I will always be afraid of spiders no matter its size or color.
