Outline Course 1.0 Introduction to Aviation Economics • Describe the characteristics of an oligopolistic economic structure. 2.0 The Demand for Airline Service • Describe the special economic structure that includes Government Financial Assistance, High Technological Turnover, High Labor and Fuel Expenses, Sensitivity to Economic Fluctuations and Close Government Regulation. 3.0 Passenger Movement • Describe the idea is to increase load factor- that is to gain profit minimize cost with a reasonable price offer to the passenger.

Outline Course 4.0 Passenger Marketing • Describe the passenger marketing activities and the concept of Airline Marketing approach from a shotgun approach to target market approach. 5.0 Airline Pricing • Analyze the various forms of non-price competition like advertising and customer service. 6.0 Fixed-Base Operation (FBO) • Describe the major services provided by FBOs that includes ground handling, cabin service, catering, ramp Service, passenger Service and field operations service.

Course Outline 7.0 Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) • Describe the type of maintenance based on manufacturer’s planning documents, but includes adjustments for the airline’s own operations. 8.0 Airline Route Planning • Describe the strategies of route planning that can be considered as the art of estimating the types of costs involved and ways to maximize profits.
