  2. Most damages in a personal injury case are classified as compensatory damages. These damages are intended to compensate injured victims for what was lost due to the accident or injury. The following are the different reasons why compensatory damages are awarded in personal injury cases:

  3. Victims may recover the costs of medical care, such as reimbursement for treatment already received and compensation for estimated costs of future medical care. Medical Treatment
