  2. 1. Publishers do much more than you may think You likely only interact with the tip of the iceberg.

  3. 2. That said, we are a business. So we really do try to make our customers happy.

  4. 3. Day to day, life for me isn’t that different from working in a library. Every organization needs a good reference librarian, it seems!

  5. 4. My colleagues are a lot like you. You’d like almost everyone here.

  6. 5. We all need each other. We want and need libraries and librarians to thrive.

  7. 6. All of us are myopic to a certain degree We won’t necessarily know to do something unless you ask.

  8. 7. Your sales representative can’t do everything for you. Try to get to know more people on the vendor side than just your sales rep.

  9. 8. We’re not all the same. Don’t believe a word I’ve said.
