Objective • IVD03 The school will regularly and clearly communicate with primary caregivers about its expectations of them and the importance of the "curriculum of the home.“ • How it will look when fully met: Teachers will schedule evening meetings with parents (number of times to be determined during planning) to inform them of expectations and the importance of the "curriculum of the home". These meetings will be planned by grade levels and consist of a series of presentations. These presentations will educate parents as to how they can assist their child at home. Child care will be provided.

I am unclear of exactly what is meant by Rising Star Data. I am not sure if we need data with regards to the indicators or assessment data. • How to be use the rising star to improve student outcomes • How to use data effectively to move the school improvement model forward • How to apply our data using that new tool • How the cohort model will work • How can it make my process more efficient • How will 5Essentials be used to help schools • How to streamline the use of assessments. • New insights into good principal eval practices • Integration of these two topics • How to combine all three data sources and use it effectively • How to best integrate key state initiatives to strategic direction provided by local BOE and community. • how to link multiple data sources to principal eval and school improvement • Aligning the many initiatives, both internal and external, to support the ultimate goal of student achievement • User friendly explanation of Rising Star system. • More about the principal evaluation process and how it will be implemented throughout the DuPage area districts

My May 7 attendance will be a successful use of my time if NICEL: • Helps me with data in the Rising Star • Provides me with a practical school improvement framework to take back to my school immediately • Helps us become more effective in integrating data from 5Essentials and Rising Star • I have a plan for aligning my work and how I will benefit from the cohort. • If I am exposed to a practical demonstration of a tool that can assist my administration in being more efficient in their work. • Gives plenty of time for sharing with colleagues • Helps me better serve my Principals on their evaluation. • Learn something helpful on principal evaluation systems - especially growth • If I learn how Essential 5 and Principal evaluation data inform each other and integrate into continuous improvement • Provides an insight to the 5 Essentials data • Provides team time to process content. Balances content and process for adult learners. Has team leave with specific actionable communication or talking points related to state initiative, recognizes the drain occurring on local resources and unfunded mandates and how to best motivate the entire staff and community to collaborate in these areas. • Increases my understanding of how to use the many sources of data available to show progress in my performance and the performance of my school • Provides additional support and information about integrating data and tools to maintain focus on student achievement • Makes Rising Star user friendly and ties all of these things together. • Gives leaders collaborative opportunities
