Board of Directors, PACIFIC BUILDING SOLUTIONS GROUP
Rob Semaan previously functioned as the co-founder and CEO of fig., an organization providing medically supervised body shaping. The company began with an emphasis on its special brand of lipotherapy, known as Advanced LipoDissolve. In this procedure, doctors administer microinjections into subcutaneous fat in an effort to dissolve the fat. Rob Semaan’s company also offered body management services, including personalized weight loss plans. Body management specialists would develop and deliver the plans through private consultations with patients, covering nutrition, fitness, and behavior. Additionally, the company coordinated with MediFast, a meal replacement system designed to encourage weight loss. Another service Rob Semaan’s firm offered was Smartlipo, designed to remove fat deposits. In this relatively simple procedure, patients would undergo anesthesia and spend an hour at a time in the outpatient clinic. With only mild side effects such as bruising and swelling, Smartlipo was a very popular service. Rob Semaan also introduced the FinerForme Laser into the fig. catalog of offerings. FinerForme Laser was available exclusively at the fig. centers and designed to act as a catalyst to the lipotherapy process. In response to the demands for cellulite reduction, fig. centers also developed cellulite reduction and removal services through the company’s research center. After he launched the first fig. medical center in 2005, Rob Semaan rapidly began expanding fig., opening three additional locations in 2006. In order to raise awareness of the company, Semaan implemented a four-month effort to re-brand the company and redefine the company’s place in the market. He used mass media marketing, such as the television and the radio, to appeal to potential patients with great success. Prior to establishing fig., Rob Semaan launched two successful start-ups: Access US and 321 Studios. Over the course of five years, Access US grew to over $10 million in annual revenue and provided services to 20,000 subscribers. 321 Studios saw revenues of $100 million per year through its software development and sales.
