  1. Ray tracing: future or just a gimmick? Back in 2018, Nvidia introduced Ray tracing, an RT core-based rendering technique that enhances visual effects and shadow reflections by tracing the path of light and simulating pixel coloring. Ray-tracing:A rendering technique and talk of the town In 2018, Nvidia came up with its new RTX cards with better chipset supported by Tension and RT cores. It was for the better gameplay and graphics visualization, along with new phenomenon Ray-tracing, previously known as a realtime rendering technique. For the high-end GPUs, gamers can get the ultimate visual reality by rendering a light path and AI.

  2. Ray-tracing off vs Ray-tracing on For the mid-budget gamers? As I previously mentioned, gamers can feel it with their high-end GPUs like RTX 2080 super or RTX 2080 ti. But using it with the entry-level RTX cards like RTX 2060 or 2060 super, you will just drop your FPS and ruin your gameplay gradually. Ray-tracing with AMD cards: Some high-end AMD cards like 5700XT and above which come along with Rdna architecture launched in 2019. Which did the process 30-50% better than the entry- level RTX cards in some games though they don’t have RT cores. They are still working on it. Do all games support Ray-tracing? (some games have already came out)

  3. At present just a handful of games support this like Battlefield or Tomb-rider. And a dozen games are coming in the future. Is Ray-tracing that much important? It’s a big NO. It has already been proved that Ray-tracing decreases fps gradually and for an entry-level RTX card owner it just hampers their gameplay. Rdna-2 and RTX 3000 series launch: Is there hope? We hope that by 2021, AMD is coming with chipsets of Rdna-2 architecture, the successor of Rdna chipset. And they are significantly highlighting their work with Ray-tracing. They want to give a good fight with the high-end Nvidia GPUs and at the end of the day, let it be profitable for consumers. Nvidia is also coming with their RTX 3000 series and they(Nvidia and AMD) both must go for reasonable pricing which is not noticeable for the high-end GPUs from Nvidia. Will cards with moderate Ray-tracing be affordable? It depends on both AMD and Nvidia with their marketing strategy, but price to a performance ratio will be better obviously. Low TDP and high chipset binding will go to the next level and hope that ray-tracing will not remain ‘luxury’ for budget gamers anymore.
