  11. And finally some comments from our apprentice departments...........Case study on NHS Employers websitehttp://www.nhsemployers.org/PlanningYourWorkforce/Modernising-Scientific-Careers/sharedlearning/educationtrainingdevelopment/Pages/ApprenticeshipsinSheffield.aspx

  12. “Recruitment has been done differently (for the HCS Apprentice)..... I think the "central" recruitment worked better for all concerned and was a better use of resources. We have never had apprentices before and there was some scepticism from within the team as to how useful an apprentice would be. A few weeks down the line and staff are "sold" on the idea as they can see what a difference the apprentices are making already”. Theresa Loxley Manager of Hearing Services SCH

  13. “Our two apprentices have been in post since November 11th, they have settled in to the department very well. I feel very pleased and proud to be able to give this learning opportunity to two school leavers who are really enthusiastic and interested in pursuing a career in science”. Joanna Andrew – York Hospitals NHS FT Trust

  14. “This is an excellent scheme which will encourage young people to train as future HCS. Our apprentice is already becoming a valued member of the team after less than a month in post”. Alison Walsh Manager Medical Imaging and Medical Physics Directorate STH
