  1. Collaborative for Neighborhood Transformation A Sister Network to Global CHE Network

  2. What If!

  3. Key Points in Building in Partnership • Mission with, not mission to • Find out what God is doing and joining Him • Think incarnationally • Long term commitment over many years to each other • Think equally and together • Field driven, not headquarters, outside organization nor donor driven • Strengthen, accelerate, and multiply what is already happening

  4. Key Points in Building in Partnership • Relationships more important then results • Recognize the strengths, weaknesses and differences of all partners and build on them. • Inter-dependence is central not independence nor dependence. • We don’t know better or more then our partners we all have something to give and to receive from each other. • Cultivate blessings for our partners not ourselves.

  5. Key Points in Building in Partnership • Realize that all partners bring some baggage with them into the partnership. • Build up a bank of trust between partners so when things go poorly there is something to fall back upon. • Take money out of the equation. Ask yourself would I partner with that partner if money was not involved?

  6. Collaborative for Neighborhood Transformation Is: • CHE used in urban neighborhoods, designed for North American cities • About creating new sub-communities since people in cities are from elsewhere, isolated and dependent on professionals to help them. • Reinstituting neighbor helping neighbor. • Based on identifying and utilizing Assets not built on needs or problems.

  7. Collaborative for Neighborhood Transformation Is: • Mobilizing churches to work in nearby urban poor neighborhoods to their church. • Using volunteer laypeople as trainers. • Training is done in segments to fit laypersons time constraints. • Networking different churches in a city doing NT into a collaborative to learn from and help each other,

On-Line MLT Book Study • Did this in August through Equip E-Learning System • Module One starting Wednesday, Jan 7 for four weeks. • Participants do not have to be on-line at the same time but they must complete their assignment within a given 7 day period (Wednesday to Wednesday) at their convenience. • Participants are given one week to read two chapters of MLT then go on line and answer a couple of questions and see a video starter from Saddleback videos. • When they answer the questions their answers are put on a forum and sent to all participants who had already answered. This way the participants inter-act with each other. • Cost $30
