The Adding Machine: A Fully Mediatized Production

A fully mediatized production of Elmer Rice's expressionistic play, "The Adding Machine," integrating virtual scenery, telematic performances via Internet 2, recorded composite video, avatar performers, photographs, graphics, and sound. Collaboration between University of Waterloo, Bradley University, and Univ. of Central Florida resulted in a unique and innovative theatrical experience. Lessons learned in convergence, collaboration, and connectivity highlight the importance of a hive mentality for successful big projects.

  13. Our universities and communities created an environment for our hive to thrive in.

  14. Big projects won’t succeed in this type of garden.
