  2. Mission Statement At I Heart Cookies we strive to bring you the best homemade cookies that you have ever tasted, because we want you to heart our cookies as much as we do.

  3. History of I Heart Cookies • Started out in Brooklyn, NY • Now located in Modena, Italy • Same recipe since 1977 Our company was started in Brooklyn by a poor old woman, who was selling homemade cookies to survive. So you can say our cookies are lifesavers. One day, our company founder, Enzo Ferrari, tasted her cookies and loved it so much he bought the cookie recipe from her. Mr. Ferrari, wasn’t satisfied with keeping the recipe for himself though, he wanted to share it with the world. So starting from scratch, in 1977, in his own home, he created the cookie business that is what it is today, I Heart Cookie Corp.

  8. Measurements (Cont’d) • What should the denominator be for the cost per cookie calculation? We used the denominator to be the number of cookies produced which was 80 cookies. • What measures would your group use to effectively evaluate production performance? All costs of Direct Material, Labor, MFG O/H, effective usage of resources, quantity, consistency and quality control. • What measures were unnecessary?  Why? Cleanup time, and the time it took to setup and also downtime for cooling.

  9. Job Cost Card

  10. Job Cost Card Summary • $2 rate of overhead for the case of this project seems reasonable. It’d include the electricity for baking and mixing, gasoline for purchasing, and water for cleaning. • Our group could improve overhead variance by being more consistent with baking, since we burnt one batch. We also could have been more efficient if we had made only 1 trip for purchases.

  11. Fun Facts! • Best selling cookies for Valentine’s day. • Best cookies to get dates. • Our cookies taste 1,287.39 times better than the other guy’s. • Our cookies make you feel like your in heaven. • Our cookies give you wings. • We have the most advanced cookie making technology in the world. • All of our cookies are hand made and packaged in our state of the art factory in Modena, Italy.
