  2. LECTURE/INTERACTIVE SESSIONS INTERACTIVE SESSION ON “SUCCESS THAT SUCCEEDS” A Lecture cum Interactive session on “SUCCESS THAT SUCCEEDS” with Dr. Vijay Chopra, a highly acclaimed Motivational Guru, Life Coach, Management Consultant, Educationist & Founder Director of Delhi Business School was organized on Friday, 9th June 2017 at IMT. Dr. Chopra shared his experiences in making the members present aware, that True success is a sum of Professional achievement and happiness. For achieving this, we need to pray for something good for self and society for which, we need to have a strong, clean, disciplined and focused mind.

  3. INTERACTIVE SESSION ON DIGITALLY TRANSFORMING BUSINESS PRACTICES • a lecture cum interactive session on “Digitally Transforming Business Practices in the Current Scenario”  was organized on 25th August 2017 (Friday) evening at Micromatic Grinding Technologies Ltd seminar hall. • The speaker was Mr. Kaviraj Singh, MD, Saralweb. This is an organization which is a mobile ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution for geographically dispersed, manpower intensive organisations such as Private Security Service providers. • The presentation centered around Business Process Automation and specifically, how the use of Mobile phones and social media affects efficient business operations with examples of HUL and Patanjali.

  4. STUDENT SEMINAR – Research paper Competition on “New frontiers of Management, Engineering and Humanities” With an aim to capture innovations in contemporary management practices and their subtle expositions in current business scenario in general and sustainable management practices in particular, Ghaziabad Management Association joined with Department of MBA, ABES Engineering college and organized A Student Seminar on “New Frontiers of Management, Engineering and Humanities” on 16th February 2018 in which an Inter College Research Paper Competition was organized for students . Over thirty participants from more than six different colleges competed to win cash prize for the best research paper in the areas of Marketing , Finance, HR , Operations and Technology and General Management. Students made very effective presentations. The winners in each category were awarded cash prizes from ABES EC and Trophies from GMA.

  5. AWARENESS PROGRAM ON APPLICABILITY OF LABOUR LAWS • An awareness program on APPLICABILITY of LABOUR LAWS (with latest amendments) was organized on Saturday, 21st April 2018 at Kapil Mohan Hall, IMT, Raj Nagar, Ghaziabad • The Facilitator, Mr. K N Agarwal, Former Asstt. Labour Commissioner, Govt. of U P. explained the applicability of each of the important Labour Laws that are applicable to any organization for regulating their terms and conditions of employment and to ensure their health, safety and welfare etc. He further explained that there are a plethora of laws in this matter but all of them would not be applicable to each organization. • The lecture session was followed by a panel discussion on the subject. The panel comprised of: • Mr. K N Agarwal, Former Asstt. Labour Commissioner (the speaker); • Dr. RashmiAgarwal, Professor of Labour Laws, IMT, Ghaziabad; & • Dr. Surendra Kumar Kansal, Director, Poysha Packaging & Wares Pvt. Ltd. • The session was very well attended by about 40 persons, most of whom were the industry representatives.

  6. SEMINAR ON HOW TO CHOSE SPECIALIZATION IN MBA Members of Ghaziabad Management Association was invited to address the First year MBA students of ABES Engineering College in a seminar organized by them on 23rd April to share their experience, views and opinion on what & how to choose a specialization in their curriculum. Those who participated and shared their views were Mr. Sudhir Sharma, CEO, Tenga Pharmaceutical Plastic Ltd., Mr. S S Sharma, Consultant and Principal Partner, System Dynamics, CA. Mr. Anil Agarwal, Mr. SandeshBhardwaj, Head HR, International Tobacco and Vinay Gupta, Executive Director GMA. In the end there were quite many questions from the students which were clarified. The entire session was very interactive and appeared to be helpful to the students in boosting their self-confidence.

  7. INTERACTIVE SESSION ON AMENDMENTS IN LABOUR LAWS FOR EASE OF DOING BUSINESS We organized an Interactive session with the Dy. Labour Commissioner, Government of UP on the amendments/ modifications being introduced/ planned to be introduced in the existing Labour Laws and actions taken under them for facilitating ease of doing business on Saturday, 26th May 2018. The DLC shared the latest amended provisions and procedures, most of which have been made on-line which renders great relief in dealing with requirements and compliance of the Law. He also shared various provisions of the Laws that are under revision and how they would ease the doing of business. After the presentation by DLC, he was asked many questions by the audience where they shared their problems and difficulties in dealing with their labour/workers and the DLC responded with very appropriate solutions. This was attended by about 35 to 40 people representing the Entrepreneurs/ owners of SMEs or those, in-charge of HR/ Administration/ IR and those who look after production various industries in Ghaziabad and Faculty of Management Colleges.

  8. TRAINING PROGRAMS/ WORKSHOPS/ MDPs DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM ON MICROSOFT EXCEL & POWER POINT Ghaziabad Management Association (GMA) has organized a program on efficient use of Microsoft Excel on Spreadsheet and effective delivery through Microsoft Power point Software at ABES Engineering College on 26 July 2017. The program was conducted in two session first session was conducted by Mr Ajay Singh, Senior Assistant Professor, ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad he covered various advanced MS Excel Topics such as Advanced Filter, Data Validation, V look Up, H Look UP and logical function IF,AND & OR, Graph using excel. The second session was conducted by MrJatin from APTECH where he discussed different techniques of power point presentation and few concepts of MS Excel. Total 16 participants were nominated by different organization who attended the training programme.

  9. WORKSHOP ON GOODS & SERVICE TAX Ghaziabad Management Association along with Department of Business Administration – ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad organized a Workshop onGoods & Service Tax (GST ) on Saturday, 23rd December 2017 at ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad. The objective of the workshop was to make the participants aware of and update them with the recent changes in GST Law. Further, the workshop provided hands – on operational exposure and knowledge in Tally ERP software for compliance of GST Law. The workshop was conducted in two sessions. The speaker of the first session was CA. Manoj Kumar Goyal who appraised the audience with the concept and various complexities and dimension of GST. He clarified the queries raised by the participants through practical examples. The second session was taken by Mr. AnuragAgarwal, Business Manager, Tally Solutions and Mr. Sarwan Nagar, Operation Team, Tally Solutions. We had participation from 7 organizations and they found the workshop of great use.

  10. MDP ON “TRANSITION THROUGH SUPERVISORY AND MANAGERIAL EXCELLENCE AT WORK PLACE In association with AKGIM, GMA conducted two days Management Development Program on “Transition through Supervisory and Managerial Excellence at Work Place” on 30th April- 1st May 2018. This MDP focused on First level leaders such as Supervisors and first line managers who leverage workers and help companies in gaining competitive advantage in the market. Program got good response from the organisations like Continental Carbon India Ltd, Unichem Laboratories Ltd as well as other participants. MDP was spread over in six sessions, delivered by very experienced and high profile persons from corporate. This program helped participants in harnessing their competencies and skills which are necessary to handle team or group at a functional level.

  11. TRAINING PROGRAM ON DIGITALIZATION OF MARKETING Two-days Training Program on “Digitalization of Marketing” was organized by Ghaziabad Management Association along with Ajay Kumar Garg Institute of Management. This was conducted by AKGIM  at its campus on 11th and 12th May, 2018. . The training sessions were intended to introduce the participants to the digital platform as a means to promote business, for online customer acquisition and to analyze digital data obtained from website and social media. The central theme of all the sessions was to generate awareness about the strategic importance of digitalizing the marketing efforts. The training was attended by about 15 participants who were from YES Bank Ltd., Macrame Enterprise, EnertiaFabritech (P) Ltd., All India Management Association (AIMA), ITS-Mohan Nagar, BM Munjal University.

  12. COMPETITIVE ACTIVITIES • SCROLLS (Student Creative Oratory Learning Skills) • SCROLLS, an annual National Level Technical Paper presentation contest, was organized by Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College in association with Ghaziabad Management Association (GMA) on 27th Oct 2017 • This event provides a platform to budding engineers and management professionals to channelize their talent into creativity and give their imagination a cutting edge. The contest was held in six domains comprising all streams of Engineering; and in Management discipline. • A total of 234 synopsis covering the six domains were initially received, of which 120 were selected for final presentation on 27th October 2017. IIM Indore, PSIT Kanpur, IPEM, Gulzar Institute of Engineering and Technology Ludhiana, MIET Meerut, RKGIT Ghaziabad, KIET Ghaziabad, JIIT Noida, ABES Ghaziabad and AKGEC participated in the program. Cash prizes totaling Rs. 54000/- and certificates were disbursed to the winners during annual convention of GMA on 20th January 2018.

  13. COMPETITION ON BEST HR PRACTICES IN INDUSTRIES • In order to work towards attaining its vision and mission of Enabling Ghaziabad Organizations to become globally competitive and to Facilitate Organizations and Individuals realize their potential, Ghaziabad Management Association organized a competition on Best Practices in HR for Industries in Ghaziabad at Hotel Apple Tree on Saturday, 11th November 2017. Seven Industries took part in the event. • All these companies presented their practices in all or any of the following domains: • Training & Development; Performance Management; Safety health & Environment; Welfare; Suggestion Scheme. • The event saw a very good participation from delegates and after all the presentations, a Panel of all the presenting organizations was formed to take up questions from the delegates. There were a great deal of questions which were very aptly answered.

  14. COMPETITION ON BEST PRACTICES IN ENGINEERING COLLEGES AND MANAGEMENT INSTITUTES Keeping in line with its vision & mission of enabling the individuals and organizations realize their potential towards developing global competitiveness, Ghaziabad Management Association conducted a competition among Institutes located in Ghaziabad to present their Innovative and Best practices in IMPROVING THE EMPLOYABILITY OF THEIR STUDENTS on Saturday, 24th February 2018 and seven Institutes took part in the competition. Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, KIET institute, and RKGIT competed in the Technical (engineering) domain; and ABES Engineering College, INMANTEC and ITS, Mohan Nagar competed in the Management domain. IMT (Institute of Management Technology) shared its best practices but did not wish to be a competitor with other institutes. After the presentations, there was a panel discussion between Industry and Academia representatives on the subject. There were almost 100 persons in the audience comprising people from the Industry, professionals and from Institutes.

  15. CHANAKYA • A two day workshop in form of Management Simulation Business Game called “CHANAKYA” was organized on 12th & 13th March 2018 at AKGIM campus. This game was conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA). • Business Game ‘Chanakya’ is a simulation game where teams of four persons each are made to represent the decision makers of a company under the dynamic circumstances and vagaries created to simulate the actual business scenarios that can prevail. • 9 teams from management cadre of member Industries and faculty from Management Institutes participated. The team from NTPC was declared winner and the team from International Tobacco Ltd. was the runners up. Mr. M K Rathi, Treasurer, GMA and Dr. T R Pandey, Director AKGIM, gave away the winner and runner up Team trophies to the participants. Individual prizes for winner and runners up were given away during the valedictory function of the 29th Annual Convention.

  16. TEJAS-20178 Ghaziabad Management Association joined with the Department of Business Administration, ABES Engineering College , Ghaziabad in organizing the Annual Management Fest TEJAS 2018 on 5th & 6th April 2018. During the inaugural address, it was emphasized that management program cannot be taught within the boundaries of the classroom and teaching pedagogy must be beyond that. Also that the students have to grab the opportunities instead of waiting for them to come on their own. More than 237 students from about 23 colleges including Galgotia, Amity University, KECU, AKGIM, IMS, KIET, RCCV Girls College, RKGIT, DIMS,AKGEC ,MIET, Birla Institute of Applied Sciences, Nainital actively participated in various competitions. The aim of various technical, management and cultural events was to provide a single platform under one roof where students from various colleges can showcase skills and talents.

  17. COMPETITION ON BEST PRACTICES IN QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN INDUSTRIES • In order to work towards attaining its vision and mission of Enabling Ghaziabad Organizations to become globally competitive and to Facilitate Organizations and Individuals realize their potential, Ghaziabad Management Association organized a competition on Best Practices in Quality Sustenance & Improvement Processes of Industries in Ghaziabad at Hotel Apple Tree on Saturday, 19th May 2018. Six Industries took part in the event. . • All these companies presented their practices in the practices they follow for maintenance and further improvement in their Quality Management domain. After the above six competitive entries were over, two other companies, who are not GMA members, also shared their practices in this domain. • The event saw a very good participation from delegates. After all the presentations, a Panel of all three Industry Heads from our member organizations was formed have a panel discussion and share their views on the subject.

  18. OTHER PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES • ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING OF GHAZIABAD MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION • The 34th Annual General meeting of GMA was held on 24TH June at Hotel Fortune Inn Grazia, Ghaziabad. This was attended by a good number of members comprising leading Industrialists, Academicians, and senior officers of organizations in this area. Mr. AmitAgarwal, the Hony. Secretary shared the GMA activities during the year and CA Shri Anil Agarwal, the Hony. Treasurer shared the salient features of the GMA Audited accounts of 2016-17. These were accepted as adopted and appreciated by all present. • Since the tenure of the existing office bearers was over, a new body was elected. The new council comprises of the under mentioned: • Mr. AmitAgarwal President • CA Mr. RakeshChharia Sr. Vice President • Mr. Dharmendra Singh Hony. Secretary • Mr. M K Rathi Treasurer • The members were invited to the AGM along with their wives. While the meeting was in progress, the wives were kept engaged in party games and social interactions.

  19. ANNUAL FAMILY GET TOGETHER OF GMA Annual Family Get-together cum Picnic on 17th December 2017 at Partapgarh Farm & Resorts at Jhajjar, Hariana. Around 26 families (80 – Adults & Children) participated in this event The farm was in ethnic rural setting which had facilities of fun, adventure, learning & enjoyment. The Members enjoyed camel rides, tractor rides & rides in the filed. There were rural games like airgun shooting, archery dart shooting, gulel & other ethenic games like pithoo, kite flying etc. The members also enjoyed and learned rural domestic activities like weaving charkha, potery, grain grinding & farm fun activities like mud bath, Burma bridge, puppet show etc. In addition to all these the campus provided a feast of fresh flavor and uniquely different culinary experience which the members enjoyed and would savor for long time. The members went in two buses and enjoyed the journey both ways which was almost 3hours each.

  20. 28TH NATIONAL CONVENTION ON: “LEADERSHIP IN AGE OF TRANSFORMATION - AN OPPORTUNITY FOR DEVELOPMENT” The welcome address and brief on the theme was delivered by Mr. AmitAgarwal , President- GMA & Deputy Managing Director- Ghaziabad Precision Product Ltd. He briefed about GMA and it's achievement during last seven years and also talked about various initiatives taken by Ghaziabad Management Association in organizing various activities. The keynote speaker, Dr. T.S. PARMAR, CEO, Albert David Ltd. discussed about the core changes in transformation, evolution and disruption Innovative with interesting examples. Mr. PARMAR also gave his self made definition of change as SURVIVAL is OF THE FITTEST, FASTEST AND BEST.  Dr. NALIN SHINGHAL, CMD, Central Electronic Ltd. was the chief guest. In his inaugural address, firstly he talked about the political changes in different countries and frequent transformation in technology. He also explained about the GST as a disruptive change which took place in the country. At the end the emphasized on strong foundation of ethical and culture values for surviving in cut throat business environment. 

  21. 28THNATIONAL CONVENTION (Contd….. The theme of the technical session 1 was "Technology & Innovation. The session chairman was Mr. S.S Sharma, Partner system Dynamics. The distinguished speakers  for the technical session were Mr. Prashant , Vice President (product), Paytm and Ms. Pinky Maheshwari, Founder of Surprise Someone , ( A Start-up ) Mr. Prashant emphasized on the technology shift especially in movies. He further talked about disruptions in digital sphere, the revolution from PC's to Mobile, wireless communication and Operating systems such as MS DOS system etc. Ms. Pinky talked about the power of disruptive innovation and also emphasized on Start-up. Ms Pinky briefed about her own venture of recycling with innovation, which was highly recognized by the Government. After this session, there was a mini skit on this sub-theme by students of IMS.

  22. 28THNATIONAL CONVENTION (Contd….. The theme of Technical session 2 was “Ecology, Environment - Business & Society. The session was coordinated by Mr. Vinay Gupta, Executive Director GMA. The distinguished speakers of the session were Dr. Laxman Prasad, Director (R&D), RKGIT & Dr. SapnaRakesh . Director IMS UC Campus.  Dr. Laxman started with the budget- its current status and challenges. He also talked about the impact of Global warming, climate change, green house effects and Solar energy. Further he added about the initiative taken by the government in solar energy.  Dr. SapnaRakesh Started with the topic environment, climate change, Global flooding, green house effect. She illustrated the disruptions in the environment and actions that have been taken and also those that are required to be taken. In the end, a mini skit on this sub theme was presented by students of ABES Engineering College.

  23. 28THNATIONAL CONVENTION (Contd….. The Chief Guest in the valedictory session was Mr. Ajit M Sharan, IAS (Retd.), Former Secretary to the Government of India, Department of AYUSH. He shared his very valuable views on governance and compliance for sustainable development and how it is related to transformation of the business environment. He gave his ideas on how to face the disruptions and maintain sustainability. He then gave away the awards to students who won SCROLLS, a Technical Paper presentation competition conducted by AKGEC in October 2017. The winners were awarded the certificate and cash prizes; and to the top three team members who won the competition on Best HR Practices, conducted for the member industries by GMA in November 2017. Mementos were presented to the Chief Guest and to organizers of the convention.

  24. BLOOD DONATION CAMPS • Blood Donation Camp at RKGIT • Department of Management Studies, RKGIT in association with Ghaziabad Management Association (GMA) and Rotary Club, Ghaziabad South End organised a blood donation Camp on 6th October 2017 in lieu of 1st October 2017 observed as National Voluntary Blood Donation Day every year. • The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Laxman Prasad- Director R&D RKG Group of Institutions along with ShriPankajGoel- Chairman Blood Donation, Ghaziabad South End , ShriVinay Gupta – Executive Director GMA, Dr. Arvind Singh- Dean Academics RKGIT, Dr. Vibhuti- Professor & Head MBA. • Around 300 donors donated blood from all courses that included the students faculty and staff.

  25. BLOOD DONATION CAMPS …(CONTD) • Blood Donation Camp at INMANTEC • Ghaziabad Management Association in association with INMANTEC and Rotary Club, Sahibabad, organised a Blood Donation Camp on 17th November 2017. • In this camp around 120 donors donated blood from persons that included the students faculty and staff. Blood donation is the highest type of humanitarian service one can give, because it saves life and you need not be a doctor to save life, just donate blood. • A lot many representatives from the Rotary motivated the donors by their presence. Each donor was provided with a memento.

  26.
