Latest Cricket News: Rohit-Dhawan best opening option for T20 World Cup, reveals former selector Sarandeep Singh Team India have tried and tested several opening pair in the recently-concluded T20I series against England. But the team should stick to their experienced opening duo of Rohit Sharma and ShikharDhawan in the T20 World Cup, says former selector Sarandeep Singh, referring them as the “best option”. Meanwhile, Dhawan was dropped after the opening game and Ishan Kishan made his debut who smashed a fifty as well. On the other hand, ViratKohli and Rohit opened in the final T20I which worked for the team quite well and Kohli expressed his desire to open more often, including the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). May be they want to try out options but in my view the left-hand right-hand combination of Rohit and Dhawan is the best option for the India at World Cup,” Sarandeep told PTI. He again shared that Dhawan shouldn’t be judged on basis of one match as he did well in ODIs after that and the upcoming IPLwill play a crucial part too. He further added that Ishan Kishan too will need to play exceptionally well to be in the team as there are no easy places in the team and the competition is very high as well.
